Day 3 – Queen of Wands, Why Do I Feel Sick?: 120 questions in 30 days, the TarotSeek way (objective self-tarot reading)

Refer to this page for more details and a full TarotSeek session sample for the 120 in 30 challenge.

Question format for sharing TarotSeek sessions

[date] – [card name]
Question: [what was your question?]
Response: [what did you say about the card you got?]
Analysis: [what does this mean to you once you saw what you were answering?]
Advice, Action, or Suggestion: [what is the outcome?]

The last three questions are posted in the .pdf which are to be saved along with your session papers. I have wrote far more in answering the Analysis and Advice questions because I’m doing it in a journal rather than on the pieces of paper. I would probably write a lot less on paper. And that’s probably why I like the audio recording sessions best.

Question 1 of 4

Queen of Wands

Question: Why do I feel sick?
Response: [Worked with the Morgan Greer Tarot, Queen of Rods for this session ]Sexy / A woman with power / covered and royal / She is beautiful, bright, and smells nice / Rising power, strength, or passion

Analysis: Drawing from what I know about this card.  This card is ruled by Leo.  My Sun sign is Leo. I was feeling sick while working. The suit of Wands often has to do with one’s work or passion but my mind was elsewhere.  My work was not focused.  I was turned away from work, turned off from work — not feeling that what I was doing was contributing to feeling wonderful about myself or achieving my goals.  For some people, for me, I can get sick when I want to ‘remove myself’ from an environment.  Why does this happen?  Because I feel obligated to stay and do what is expected of me. But I know that when I get sick, I have an excuse.  Not a very good one, not a productive one, but an excuse nonetheless.

I can see now that the woman is turned away and pointed towards the flower rather than the work she is charged to do in the RWS card.  In the Morgan Greer card, the woman seems vacant or somewhere else — wanting to be somewhere else.  As if where she is is a duty, a royal one.  I’m still not sure where the word sexy comes in… *chuckle* Maybe I want to feel sexy and free rather than boring and dutiful.

I’m left with a sense that my analysis is not enough.  That’s okay, it happens sometimes and this is a good time to reach out to other resources — beyond yourself, to seek clarification and further insight or draw another card.  I decided to see what other people on the Internet said about this card.  I stumbled upon Tarot Card of The Day and that’s all I needed to read.  This is the passage that connected to why I was sick…

When “Queen of Rods” shows up in a reading, it may suggest your temporary loss of self-esteem could be the result of taking on too much work while dismissing the priority of honoring the well-being of your body, mind and spirit.

If you feel unhappy about your current situation, “Queen of Rods” may be here to imply that it’s ultimately up to you to decide whether you’d stay at where you are right now or choose to leave the past behind and start afresh. © 2006 – 2010 by Henrietta Chan

Advice, Action, or Suggestion: I know it’s time to take a new direction in my career, in what I do for a living but it’s scary so I keep doing what I have done since I have done it for so long.

But fact is:  I’m cut for sunshine, positivity, spiritual growth, and lovely days.

Tarot started off as a hobby.  And helping people has always been an interest of mine but it hasn’t really taken me where I want to go.  I considered being a psychologist and many say I’m a natural at time but I thought of how I often feel unappreciated when helping another heal.  And I wondered if I actually wanted to live a life in the past. Or live a life of dealing with the problems of others and once healed, I do not get to bask in the light I helped turn on.

Art is something I have only explored as a hobby.  Sure, I did brief stints as a handmade greeting card maker and a web designer but fine art isn’t something I have worked with at the professional level and it’s something I would like to do. I like to create and share.  Perhaps mix everything I have done in the past and turn it all into an art piece of sorts.

It will take at least a year for things to be set fully in motion but it’s time to move forward, upwards, and onwards.  At the same time, I still have work to do, a living to make, and unfinished business.  So I’ll work on that and work on closing up that too. It’s also time for me to let others help and guide me for a change.

Note: Your response may not make any sense at first glance and the first thoughts might not be deep or on-point as the rest. This is because we may say what we ‘think’ we should say rather than what is truly there.  It’s in the analysis that you will find your clear answer but what you can be clear about is an objective reading. This is why TarotSeek is packaged with a forum where you can ask other readers what’s their take on a response and how they would analyze it.

Questions 2-4 are not included in this sample.

What’s next?

This tarot challenge lasts for 30 days. It ends on September 30, 2011 (during the sign of Libra). Consider doing a blog about your TarotSeek sessions and let me know. Join the forum to get help analyzing your responses or advice on what to do next. Comment here with your results. Do try, my Virgo pleads with you, to use this format for sharing. (Though I wonder: Will anyone else do this other than myself?) It’s nice and neat and makes it easy to connect with what you are doing. And use one of the Challenge Journals to help you explore your responses.

Purchase the guide. If you need a coupon (can’t afford buying this guide at the current price), ask. However, if you get a coupon do appreciate and reciprocate by sharing the joy of TarotSeek and encouraging people who express a desire to self-read to pick up their own copy. Namaste.
